Aquarbe and the Aquae Foundation join the FIRST LEGO League

Tomorrow, the company will give a talk at the Pamplona Planetarium to transfer knowledge on water and sustainable development to several teams that are taking part in the FIRST LEGO League in the Chartered Community of Navarre.

Aquarbe and the Aquae Foundation have joined the FIRST LEGO League programme in Navarre as subject area collaborators on the HYDRO DYNAMICS challenge. The FIRST LEGO League programme encourages young people aged 10 to 16 to seek careers in the fields of science, technology and engineering in Spain, through an exciting learning experience that inspires over 320,000 young people in 88 countries of the world.

In this twelfth edition of the FIRST LEGO League, 15,000 Spanish young people will be 'immersed' in the world of water management with the HYDRO DYNAMICS challenge and will explore where and how to find water, how to transport it, how to use it and how to manage it. In this subject area, Aquarbe and the Aquae Foundation wanted to join as partners in this great science and technology adventure for young people in Navarre.

Talk at Pamplona Planetarium

With the aim of inspiring the Navarrese teams participating in this challenge, Aquarbe has organized a workshop-talk that will be held at 5:30 pm tomorrow, December 13, at the Pamplona Planetarium, an entity that is promoting the FIRST LEGO League in the chartered community. The water cycle and sustainable development will be the main subject areas addressed on a day designed to provide the teams with knowledge and experience they can apply to their own challenges, and to answer any questions that may arise in this respect.

This activity takes place in the three-month period that the teams have to work intensively to develop their improvement proposals for the HYDRO DYNAMICS challenge in three main areas: design, build and program a robot; develop a scientific project that solves the problem; and demonstrate team values. The regional final will be held in Pamplona on 4 February, where teams will present their projects and robots. This is one of the 32 classifying tournaments that will take place throughout Spain.

The winners of the FIRST LEGO League classifying tournaments will be entered into the FIRST LEGO League Spain Grand Final. From there, some teams will be selected to travel and participate in international tournaments of the FIRST LEGO League.

FIRST LEGO League has been promoted in Spain since 2006 by Fundación Scientia, a non-profit organization that promotes scientific and technological careers and the development of 21st-century skills and abilities through the participation of young people in FIRST LEGO League. To make this possible, FIRST LEGO League has the collaboration of 20% of the universities in Spain, technology parks, and entities that promote innovation based in over 25 cities in Spain, with an extraordinary network of 2,700 volunteers.
As Aquarbe manages services linked to the complete water cycle in Navarre, it has become a FIRST LEGO League collaborator to bring its experience and knowledge to these young people and their learning, generating value for the programme.
